Eco Club members welcomed new members from class XI. The new members were given an opportunity to introduce themselves and share their concerns about the Environment around them with other club members. Students discussed all Eco problems ranging from wastage and shortage of water, air pollution, littering the surroundings to plight of city birds.
They also discussed the ways through which student's community can take lead to solve Environmental issues.

Activity: Essay writing on the topic : World 2020 – A vision

Learning Objective: To enable the students to  take the initiative and share their views on  forming a vision for the green world of tomorrow .  
 An essay writing competition was held for the members of Eco Club to provide them with an opportunity to express their views on the vision of  the world at the end of this decade. Students participated and wrote passionately about their dream of a greener world. Students also came up with very useful and practical suggestions to make the world a greener place.

Learning Objective: To create awareness among the students to reduce wastage of paper through ‘SAVE PAPER CAMPAIGN”
Members of Eco club gathered together to launch ‘SAVE PAPER CAMPAIGN’ and they went to every classroom in small groups in Montessori, Primary & Senior departments for an interactive session with the students to make them aware of the long term adverse impact of wastage of paper and also to discuss ways in which each students can contribute to make the campaign a success. Students also pinned up handouts ‘TIPS TO SAVE PAPER’ in each class room to reinforce the same. All the students pledged not to wastepaper and contribute to the cause of nature.
Overwhelming responses of their juniors has encouraged the members of Eco Club to plan & conduct more such sessions in future also.

TIPS TO SAVE PAPER
1.Use Paper Notebooks Wisely.
2.Use both sides of note book paper. Avoid leaving white space as much as you can.
3.Buy and use recycled paper whenever possible.
4.If you have paper you don't need anymore, take it to a recycling center.
5.Explore the ways to re-use paper creatively.
6.Re-use used computer paper.
7.Use Computers whenever possible.
8.Use the back of every paper.
9.Don't write on random pieces of paper to remember things.
10.Write small, (but legible) so the paper will last longer.
11.It is always better to use washable cloth napkins instead of paper napkins.
12.Always reuse paper based decorative material.

First Meeting in 2012 - 13

Orientation for new members of the club was held on 4th April 2012 in the first meeting of Eco Club in the session 2012-13.
All members introduced themselves and took an oath to work sincerely towards environmental issues.
New Club coordinators were selected. New Club coordinators of the club are : Nikhil of XI B and Chaitanya of XII C.
The first activity of the club
‘Save Paper campaign’ was decided.

Members discussed various ways to save the paper at personal as well as organizational level.
