Green School Award

KIIT World School received this year's Green School Award from Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) for conducting environment audits.  The school is doing exemplary work in environmental conservation by minimising water consumption, optimising the energy use, shifting to mass transport modes, and catering to bio-diversity conservation.  Delhi Transport Minister, Ramakant Goswami and members of rock band Indian Ocean gave away the award at a ceremony held at India Habitat Centre.

BEST OUT OF WASTE & SURPRISE AUDIT OF CLEANLINESS


People usually dispose their waste in the dustbin without even thinking that they could be useful by some other means to someone. The waste material generated can be recycled and reused and can be helpful in making various other products. The students of class 9-10 displayed their creative skills in making different products by using the waste materials. They made pen holder stand and photo frames by using different objects.

Visit to CM House on Earth Day



Eco club students of KIIT visited the Hon'ble Chief Minister’s house to see the 'Nature trail' on 10 May, 2013 accompanied by Mr. Puneet Khurana and environmentalist Ms. Aarti Verma, a resourse person from WWF.
The cluster of trees and plants all over the majestic boundary engulfed with army of bats hovering over it provided a magnificent sight and made us exclaim “WOW! Here’s god’s plenty to admire. The place is equipped with compost and a vermicompost pit. Through organic farming the vegetables and fruits are grown and are used by imamates of the CM house. A birds dwelling unit, a fish pond, a tree house all together made the place look more magnificent and eco friendly. The journey included gaining of immense knowledge about plants mammal like monkey, bats which capture our attention, our students also got the opportunity to talk to respect CM SHEELA DIXIT for couple of minutes...

Eco Club Induction Programme


CHIEF GUEST:- Dr. B.C. SABAT (senior scientific officer) and Dr. ANIL KUMAR(director dept. of environment)


Dr B.C. Sabat shared his experience that he started with just 100 schools which now has expanded to 2000 schools.  He also told about starting up  of a sparrow corner in the school. And school with maximum sparrows will be visited by Hon able chief minister Mrs. SHIELA DIXIT.
A skit was presented on Cleanliness and the charter of Eco Club was read by the club president NAMAN ANANAD.
Dr. ANIL KUMAR shared that amount of 25paise from every litre of petrol we buy is given to Dept. of environment.
